Dr. Mark Auslander Visits Erie, PA (February 9-10, 2012)

Dr. Mark Auslander was the keynote speaker at Gannon University's Black History Month Lecture. The theme for the evening was Slavery and Liberation in African American Family History: Transfroming Community Through Service-Learning. Dr. Auslander also discussed his current book: The Accidental SlaveOwner: Revisiting A Myth of Race & Finding An American Family. On February 10th, Dr. Auslander was invited by native Covingtonian Johnny Johnson to do a presentation at the Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial Center. 1965 R.L. Cousins Wolverines Honored at Banner Raising Ceremony at Newton County HS (January 31, 2012)

On January 31st Newton County HS under the direction of Coach Rick Rasmussen honored the 1965 R. L. Cousins Wolverines State Runner-up Basketball team.
The team coached by Henry James (Jimmy) Wright, III who who passed last year was represented by team members, Johnny Johnson, Lester Lackey, Jr., Rochester Pitts and the family members of Coach Wright and R.L. Cousins Alumni. The team, family of Coach Wright and the Alumni of R.L. Cousins thank Coach Rasmussen, his players and school administrative staff for supporting this endeavor.
